About me
Therapy does not have to begin with knowing exactly what is wrong or having the right words to explain it. Sometimes you know what you want to change. Sometimes you simply know that something feels difficult, overwhelming, painful, or no longer sustainable. We can begin there.
At Therapy with Z, I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, chronic illness and pain, suicidal ideation, identity concerns, and difficult life experiences. I am interested in understanding the whole person rather than reducing someone to a diagnosis, symptom, or treatment plan.
Sessions are collaborative and shaped around what you need. We might explore an experience more deeply, notice patterns, learn practical skills, work with difficult thoughts or emotions, practice mindfulness or self-compassion, reconnect with your values, or simply make room for something that has been difficult to carry alone. I draw from evidence-based and research-informed approaches while adapting therapy to the individual rather than expecting every person to respond to the same model.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodiversity affirming, disability affirming, trauma-informed, and grounded in respect for your autonomy. You do not need to perform, have everything figured out, or become a different version of yourself to belong in therapy. We can get curious about where you are, what you need, and what moving forward might look like for you.
